This resulted in the abolition of work permits and introduction of a new visa, the Certificate of Sponsorship. The Certificate of Sponsorship replaces work permits and offers more opportunities to applicants especially those with a professional background or qualifications.If you've been offered a job with a valid certificate of sponsorship, you can apply for this visa to stay and work in the UK for up to 2 years.
