Du học New Zealand: Những tín hiệu tốt cho du học sinh

Bộ trưởng Giáo dục Chris Hipkins nhấn mạnh quyết định mới nhất này là sự công nhận vai trò của sinh viên quốc tế đối với tiến trình phục hồi hậu đại dịch COVID-19, đồng thời là cơ hội giúp các sinh viên quốc tế hoàn thành được việc học tập của mình.

 

“Những đối tượng này là những sinh viên đã hoặc đang có visa 2020, và cam kết học tập lâu dài ở New Zealand nhưng bị COVID-19 làm gián đoạn. Ưu tiên sẽ dành cho những người cần ở new Zealand để tiến hành học tập và nghiên cứu.”

“Việc cho phép sinh viên đến New Zealand là một bước đi đúng hướng của ngành giáo dục quốc tế. Chính phủ sẽ xem xét các trường hợp ngoại lệ khác, ngay khi bảo đảm đủ an toàn.”

 

Ông Steve Maharey, Chủ tịch Cơ quan Giáo dục New Zealand, cho biết chương trình miễn trừ đặc biệt trên không giới hạn đối với bất kỳ quốc gia hay vùng lãnh thổ nào miễn là tất cả sinh viên đã được cấp thị thực 2020 để theo học chương trình đào tạo tiến sĩ hoặc thạc sĩ.

 

Ông Maharey cũng cho biết thêm các sinh viên sẽ phải tự thanh toán toàn bộ chi phí trong thời gian cách ly bắt buộc.

 

Các trường đại học ở New Zealand đã hoan nghênh quyết định của chính phủ, song cho rằng 250 là một con số còn rất nhỏ so với 70.000 sinh viên nước ngoài nói chung vẫn theo học ở New Zealand. Do đó, các cơ sở giáo dục này bày tỏ mong muốn chương trình miễn trừ đặc biệt sớm được mở rộng cho nhiều sinh viên quốc tế không thể nhập cảnh vào do đại dịch.

New Zealand vẫn là một trong những điểm đến an toàn

Tháng 5 vừa qua, New Zealand đã tuyên bố khống chế được các ca lây nhiễm trong cộng đồng. Ca nhiễm cộng đồng gần dây nhất được nhận định là một người làm việc trên các tàu nước ngoài tại các khu cảng. Do trường hợp này được sớm phát hiện, nguy cơ lây lan dịch đã được khống chế.

New Zealand được đánh giá cao về độ phản hồi của Chính phủ về dịch Covid-19

Trước tình trạng dịch bệnh căng thẳng, New Zealand buộc phải thi hành nhiều biện pháp phong tỏa trong phạm vi cả nước. Chính phủ đã cho phép tất cả các trường hợp visa hết hạn từ ngày 1/4/2020 đến ngày 9/7/2020 sẽ được tự động gia hạn visa đến ngày 25/9/2020, đảm bảo về vấn đề lưu trú hợp pháp của các du học sinh.

 

New Zealand cũng là một trong những nước sớm đưa ra gói hỗ trợ tài chính cho người dân, và sinh viên quốc tế. Với HSSV đang đi làm và đáp ứng các điều kiện nhận hỗ trợ, mức trợ cấp là 580 NZD nếu làm trên 20 giờ/ tuần, và 350 NZD nếu làm dưới 20 giờ/ tuần. Sinh viên đang làm trong những ngành thiết yếu như Siêu thị, Nhà thuốc có thể làm trên 20 giờ/ tuần nếu muốn.

 

Mặt khác, chính phủ nước này sẽ chi trả tất cả chi phí điều trị và có hướng dẫn chi tiết về các đường dây nóng để HSSV nhận hỗ trợ khi cần.
